Cocktail Ingredients
- 2-3 dashes angostura bitters
- 1 tablespoon Honey Sage Syrup (recipe below)
- Ice
- 3 ounces rye whiskey
- 1 ounce water
- Optional: Addition 1 tablespoon+ honey sage syrup
- Prepare, stir and serve in a rocks glass
- Garnish: Orange slice and fresh sage leaves
Honey and Sage Simple Syrup
- Add 1 cup of water and 1/2 cup of honey to a medium sized pot and place over med-high heat.
- Add in 10 fresh sages leaves, peels of 1 orange and the juice of 1/2 an orange
- Stir together and bring to a boil
- Reduce to a simmer for up to 5 minutes
- Let the syrup cool, strain if desired and store in a jar in the fridge
